How do you succeed in navigating uncertainty?

How do you succeed in navigating uncertainty? Caroline LEE, Transition Coach, Storytelling

How do you succeed in navigating a huge life transition?

Today, I want to share a personal story to testify - once again - that life is all about courage, resilience and faith.

My daughter just graduated from High School, with a huge smile on her face. And yet, her life over the past 4 years, was far from being a bed of roses!

So, let me give you a bit of context...

When our family jumped into this new crazy adventure to move to the US in Jan 2019 with our 3 kids (aged 14, 12 and 8 at the time), it was a lifelong project for us parents, but it was also a real challenge.

You know in your guts this is the right way forward, but you never really know what to expect, right?

What a challenge for us parents, sure, but an ever bigger one for our kids, for they hadn't chosen to come.

We all DIVED deep into the unknown.

Our daughter struggled. A lot. To adapt, to learn to embrace new ways of living, doing things, studying.

She struggled to make new friends and to belong, to be 'part of' and not 'the odd one out'.

She struggled to live & study through Covid at 16, being stuck in her room behind a Zoom screen for 18 months... And not having any friends outside school, because it was still too early for her.

Yet, with perseverance and courage, she did it! She made it happen. Having friends she can rely on, belonging, and being a part of. It took her 3 full years to be happy here.

She turned what she refers to as 'a real trauma' into an inspiring and growth life adventure.

All of this to say that it was the best school for life: learning at such a young age (14) to dive deep into the unknown, navigate uncertainty, and coming out on the other side stronger.

And she DID it!

So today, I am thrilled to share my JOY & PRIDE as a mother to see my daughter graduating from High School this June.

My life motto remains the same:

NEVER GIVE UP & BELIEVE IN YOURSELF!
